This project was part of the YCN – Childline competition of 2019. The motive of this brief was to address issues affecting 13-18 year olds, as per the guidelines of the given brief. The topics I focused on varied throughout each poster as certain issues which affected a 13 year old were not applicable to an 18 year old vice-versa, these topics were Puberty, Exam Stress & Cyber-Bullying.
A requirement of the brief was that the imagery used shouldn’t be so graphical and focused on a specific subject that it can trigger trauma or bring bad memories to the individuals who would view it. Also, to consider all kinds of races and ethnicities when illustrating people. Throughout my poster series, I emphasised that whatever problem or issue, Childline is always there. Reassuring the target audience that Childline can always be contacted without hesitation.
For the design process, illustrations were designed 2D and expressive of the poster’s context. As this poster series when produced was likely to be presented in and around schools, I felt it was appropriate to keep the illustrations somewhat basic rather than detailed and over-complicated for it to be interpreted quickly and easily by all.
Software used in this project – Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator, Notepad (HTML5 & CSS Applied) – Web Mockup.
