This project was privately commissioned by a client who requested an illustration of a scenario of a Robot Apocalypse, where Robots take over Planet Earth and humans are their diet. I had created the setting of this illustration in a supermarket aisle, depicting a Robot in the background with its child shopping for products which were made up of human remains. In the forefront of the illustration, I had shown a single robot picking out ‘fresh heads’.

As futuristic and scary as this project initially sounded, I planned to give it some personification when it came to the supermarket products shown in the illustration such as ‘hair-ghetti’ (spaghetti), ‘mineral tears’ (bottled mineral water), ‘fingers’ (like chocolate fingers, but human ones instead) and more. I attempted to give every product displayed a human element but with the idea that robots still follow a worldly system such as shopping and have kinship.

For detailing on the robots, I illustrated their eyes in a bionic way, similar to a macro lens with features to zoom in and out with their vision, also, LED lights on the front chest area of the robots to allow them to know how much power they have left and when they need more power/charging. When introducing kinship, I personified the robots even futher by creating the arms of the robots in such a way that their right hand was a plug and the left hand was a socket. Grasping on the human idea of joining/holding hands, a way for robots to connect was through linking through each other.
